Youth Winter Retreat

  • Windermere Conference Center 1650 Koehler Drive Roach, MO, 65787 United States (map)

Winter Retreat: REACH is a weekend for students to get away and go after God. If you are coming, please let us know on Facebook!  Also, please print out and turn in the registration application found here.

Who is the speaker?

Justin Chandler is a Central Bible College graduate and has been the Student Ministry Pastor at Hope Church for the last decade. Justin also began the outreach, Serve Springfield, that our youth ministry took part in last summer.  Justin is a dynamic and passionate speaker and will challenge our students to REACH in 2016.

Will it be fun?

Students will be split up into 4 different teams where they will participate in group games to build comradery. There will be a time were students will play dodgeball and kickball in the gym, and a time to play bubble soccer in a field.

What is the cost?

The cost of Winter Retreat: REACH is $100 and covers transportation, all meals/snacks (Fill out Subway order on the application), basic bedding, team color bandanna, journal, writing utensil, and ESV Bible for those who don’t have one.

The application and money is due Monday, January 11.

How rooms be split up?

We will be staying in the Dogwood Lodge on the campus of the Windermere Conference Center. There are 6 rooms that sleep 7 people and 2 rooms that sleep 10 people. Students will split into rooms with their peers of the same age and gender. There will also be at least one pre-approved leader that has passed a background check in each room.

What do I bring?

Active clothes, close toed shoes, warm clothes (We may be outside for part of the team games), Bible, journal, toiletries, towel, extra pillow, extra blanket.

What about technology?

The goal of Retreat is for students to disengage from their normal routine and seek after God. Technology can be one of the biggest distractions in a student's life; therefore, once we get to Windermere, there will be a strict "no technology" policy. That means no cell phones, mp3 players, etc. Once we get to Windermere, I will be collecting all technology and it will be handed back out when we leave.
