The Church (globally) exists to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples. That is the "Great Commission" that Jesus gave to His followers in Matthew 28:18-20. Across the world, churches strive to do these two things no matter where they are in terms of context or culture.
"And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
At Evangel Temple, we seek to fulfill this mission through a variety of programs and ministries. As our church grows and changes, we recognize the need to change programs, enhance what we are doing, and even start new things to meet the needs of our church and accomplish our mission.
Right now we are looking to launch a Small Group ministry that will work alongside our existing Adult Christian Education programs. Our goal is to foster intentional relationship building and discipleship in a smaller contexts that provides more two way communication than a Sunday Morning service alone. These groups are the place to get to know others and to be known by them.
As we prayerfully plan and begin to prepare for this ministry, we want to hear from you. This ministry is developing because our pastoral staff has been hearing in our one-on-one conversations that may be a need for more opportunities for people to connect and grow outside of Sunday mornings. Because of that, we want to explore creating something to meet that particular need.
