Pastor Amy Louck
Amy serves as the pastor of Family Life Ministries and Women's Ministry. She was born in Alton, Illinois but has spent the majority of her life in Springfield, MO. In 2002 she met her husband Michael while attending Central Bible College. A year later they were married! After starting a family in 2004, Amy transferred to Evangel University where she later graduated with her B.S. in Human Services degree. She is currently pursuing her minister's license with the Assemblies of God, and will be working towards her M.A. in Organizational Leadership degree this fall at Evangel University.
Amy has a love for people and a deep desire to encourage them to grow in their full potential in Christ. Whether that be serving in their local body of believers as a lay member, or in full-time vocational ministry, she believes that we should all play some role in the church as part of the body of Christ. (1 Cor. 12:12-31) Helping others find where their gifts and talents can best be used in the body, and then getting them plugged into that area, is a passion of hers.
As the Director of Women's Ministry at Evangel Temple, Amy organizes all of our women's events, bible studies, and retreats with her leadership team. She also enjoys writing devotionals for women which she often posts on the ET Women's Facebook page. Encouraging women to serve the Lord and find their strength, fulfillment and purpose in Him is the highlight of this role for her. She firmly believes that God has called all believers to walk securely in who they are in Him, and to build others up to do the same. Amy says, "when women see themselves as God sees them (beautiful, called by Him, and made in His image), and then begin to own that truth, they become unstoppable warriors for Him." It is her desire to see all women walk in the truth of their identity in Christ.
As Pastor of Family Life Ministries, Amy partners with her husband Michael to provide biblical and fun teaching to our ET Kids on Sunday mornings and to oversee our Girl's Ministry and Royal Ranger programs on Wednesday nights. Together they also oversee the discipleship program known as the "E-Team" for our 5th and 6th graders. This is a transitional program that partners with our youth ministry to train and equip pre-teens to be Godly leaders with servant hearts. ET Kids JBQ, Choir, and Family Fun Nights are also ministries that Amy helps to oversee and support. She desires to see Families supported and strengthened through the ministries, discipleship and support Evangel Temple offers them. A verse she loves with regards to children and family ministry is Colossians 2:7, "Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him, then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness." It is her goal to see every child graduate from kids ministry into youth ministry with a deep foundation (roots) in Christ so that they can build upon that as they mature in their relationship with Christ throughout their teen years.
A final ministry that you can see Amy involved in is our Small Groups. She loves this statement made by Pastor Rick Warren regarding Small Group Ministry, "Small groups are not a program in the church, small groups are the church. The Bible calls the church the body of Christ. If the church is the body of Christ, then I would equate small groups to the cells of the body. Our church, or rather body, should be made up of small groups....cells. When our cells are healthy, our body is healthy." Small groups are where fellowship, community, and ultimately relationships are made at ET. It is her desire to see every person at Evangel Temple become involved in a small group, because she believes so strongly in what they do for the corporate body.
While Amy feels called to all of her roles at Evangel Temple, her two favorite roles take place outside of ET. They are: 1) Wife to her husband Michael of fifteen years, and 2) Mom to her six children ages four to fourteen. She enjoys spending time with her family at the pool, watching movies, or traveling to new places. In her spare time Amy loves dabbling in interior design and writing. When asked what her favorite Bible passage is she shared Luke 10:26, "He answered, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as yourself." She believes that if we do these two things well, Love God and Love People, everything else will become second nature when striving to serve the Lord.
